Designer-Tutors’ lectures:

Each guest designer will present and describe her own work and design process in a lecture of 45 minutes. All participants are invited to ask questions at the end of each presentation, to stimulate debate and discussion on specific topics.

Guided visit to the exhibition “ITALY: a New Collective Landscape”.


3:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Workshop – The participants in the event, through an ongoing and direct confrontation with the Designer Tutors and the curators of the program, are guided in the definition of a concept related to the theme “VARIABLE THRESHOLDS”, explored through different means of reflection and expression.

Workshop – In the afternoon, the participants will work in groups to prepare a physical or digital presentation of their research related to the theme “VARIABLE THRESHOLDS”.

Closing event & “ITALY: A New Collective Landscape” Exhibition Finissage – The workshop will end with a closing panel featuring the participation of Tellurico (Designer), Matteo Guarnaccia (Designer), Barbara Brondi & Marco Rainò (IN Residence initiators and curators), and Angela Rui (design researcher and curator of the exhibition “ITALY: A New Collective Landscape”).

The closing event and finissage serve as a platform for workshop participants, panelists, and the public to foster meaningful insights and exchanges on the contemporary design scene, with the aim to stimulate fresh perspectives and ignite deeper conversations about the past, present, and future horizons of design. In this fusion of artistic expressions and intellectual discourse, the IN Residence Design Workshop #17’s closing event promises to be an enriching experience, offering an inspiring glimpse into the boundless possibilities that design holds for our collective future.
