TEN SMALL ATLASES
Ten Processes Behind Ten Objects
2010 – MILAN (ITALY)
Fuorisalone, Ventura Lambrate
The IN Residence – Design Dialogues project presents the collective show “Ten Small Atlases – Ten Processes Behind Ten Objects” curated by Barbara Brondi & Marco Rainò in Milan, during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile.
Design, considered in particular as the creative process through which an object is created, is the main topic of the show. The ten designers involved in the process will exhibit their personal visual “vocabularies”, a collection of materials, useful for teaching the various phases of conception and planning which are decisive in identifying the sources of inspiration and referral models for the creative process that brought them to create the final products exhibited in the show. Ten small exhibit areas, where each designer describes the story behind the object, from the conception of the idea to its creation, through a “ collection” – ten small atlases – of prototypes, sketches, notes, images, music or books that influenced, inspired, constrained and facilitated them during the process.
